M. Rajeshwari, Founder of Merit Creaters

Founder.
years in textile production.

M. Rajeshwari began her textile career in 1993, running domestic home-textile businesses: New Janatha Handlooms (1993–1998) and Tulsi A Tex (1998–2005). She personally oversaw yarn procurement, dyeing, weaving, and packaging. In 2005, she and Murugesan founded Merit Creaters and led its expansion into job work for large-scale exporters, scaling from a family operation to 25+ employees with added looms and capacity.

With years of hands-on production experience, Rajeshwari leads the company as Founder, overseeing quality standards, dyeing operations, and long-term strategy. Her operational focus is on discipline: samples are tested for color fastness and shrinkage before shipment, batches that fail inspection are reworked immediately, and every order is tracked from raw material through final packing.

From family operation to manufacturing powerhouse

Rajeshwari's career spans three distinct chapters of India's textile evolution. In the earliest years (1993–1998), she and Murugesan ran New Janatha Handlooms, a domestic home-textile business, as a tight family unit — personally executing every function from yarn procurement to weaving. This hands-on experience gave her intimate knowledge of every production step and the discipline to maintain quality when output was small and margins were tight.

The second phase (1998–2005) saw the business grow into Tulsi A Tex, still serving the domestic market but at greater scale. Rajeshwari led the operational scaling — investing in new looms, hiring skilled workers, and building the systems that would later support a much larger workforce.

In 2005, Rajeshwari and Murugesan founded Merit Creaters, evolving the business into large-scale export job work. Since then, her focus has been operational scaling and strategic consolidation: building direct relationships with international bulk buyers, implementing rigorous quality gates, and preparing for certifications (SEDEX audit in process).
